We have an exciting opportunity within Experian IT Services to join an agile automation team consisting of four Automation Engineers. For the first three months, you will use your Linux admin and Ansible skills to assist the team in the automated deployments of on-premise Linux based systems, once this has been achieved the team will focus on automated infrastructure projects within AWS and Azure. In addition, you will be involved in the research and development of business-as-usual opportunities that support our internal colleagues and business demands.

Your Responsibilities A Senior Automation Engineer works within an Agile team with the following responsibilities: · Research of potential automation opportunities, documenting and ensuring readiness for development if applicable. · Development and documentation of approved automated tasks/processes using all available tools, including Ansible, BladeLogic, GIT, Confluence and Jira. · Testing of developed and approved automated tasks/processes, ensuring testing templates are complete and published on Confluence · Release of developed and tested automated tasks/processes, ensuring release templates are complete, published on Confluence, and communicating to key stakeholders · The investigation and remediation of any failures with ETAG automated tasks or processes. In addition, any bugs or enhancements identified are logged within the Jira backlog and documented in Confluence · Coding standards are adhered to and all scripts added and maintained within the appropriate repositories · Ansible Tower environment is maintained and updated in line with Experian security standards · Weekly code reviews should be attended to ensure scripts are efficient and written according to standards · Actively participate in all SCRUM ceremonies when available to do so · Maintain and update assigned Jira tasks to documented standards · Acting as a bridge between Automation and other teams
Essentials You will have a minimum 5 years' experience in either an operational or automated delivery focused environment and must be able to demonstrate: · Strong Linux administration experience within a complex multi-tier enterprise infrastructure environment · In-depth automation and scripting skills including use of a scripting languages such as NSH, BASH, YAML. PowerShell would also be advantageous · In-depth knowledge of Ansible Tower · Exposure to agile development methodologies such as SCRUM
Desirables In addition to the essential skills listed above, experience of one or more of the following competencies is desirable: · Experience of Windows system administration · BMC BladeLogic automation toolset · Familiar with the Atlassian suite (including Jira, Bitbucket and Confluence). · Familiar with ServiceNow or other ITSM tools. · Database knowledge and SQL skills (on an enterprise database such as Oracle or EnterpriseDB) · In depth knowledge of virtualisation platforms
