About The Role

In this role you will help to develop LiveWest's leadership capability through the design and delivery of engaging and effective learning programs and the associated tools. The scope ranges from Supervisors and emerging leaders through to Executive level. It will involve programme design and delivery, as well as selecting and managing external suppliers and partners. The role is about much more than training -you will be constantly seeking out innovative and practical ways to ensure our leaders have both the skill and will to be successful.

  • Defining short- and medium-term leader development needs from emerging leaders / Supervisors through to Executive level
  • Designing engaging and effective leader development programmes based on the LiveWest capability framework
  • Facilitation and management of learning events for leaders
  • Development of tools for leaders to support and enhance their learning
  • Design and facilitation of Development/Assessment Centres
  • Managing external partnerships & suppliers relating to leader development
  • Acting as an internal Leadership consultant
  • Coaching the People Development Managers, thus enabling them to provide day-to-day support to our Leaders
  • Produce and publish a leadership development activity schedule
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of LiveWest's capability frameworks

About The Candidate

To be considered for the role of Leadership Development Manager, you will:

  • Be MCIPD qualified (or equivalent expertise through study and experience)
  • Have evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to continuous learning
  • Have accreditation in behavioural assessment tools or leadership systems would be well regarded
  • Possess strong learning design skills - including the ability to reflect our culture and values in all content
  • Have exceptional facilitation ability, and significant experience in facilitating leadership and behavioural programmes
  • Be able to demonstrate understanding of adult learning and 70:20:10 methodology
  • Have experience in the design and utilisation of toolkits for leaders
  • Possess the ability to design and facilitate development / assessment centres
  • Show significant coaching experience, including at a senior level
  • Have the ability to align all activity to business strategy - a pragmatic outlook that enables you to provide real solutions to real problems
  • Be able to demonstrate confidence and gravitas, enabling you to be equally comfortable with Supervisors, Managers and Executives
  • Have the ability to influence a range of stakeholders and challenge the status quo
  • Have knowledge of a range of leadership models and systems, with experience of applying them in reality
  • Show strong communication skills
  • Possess MS Office skills
  • Hold a full driving licence (as regular travel is required across the South West)
  • Show a bility to works at pace
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence
  • Show resilience and a pragmatic approach
  • Be creative and innovative - you are across current and emerging themes in leadership and learning
  • Be collaborative and consultative
  • Be able to deal with customers courteously and professionally at all times
  • Be able to challenge convention in the way we work to continually improve our business
  • Have the ability to reflect on own performance for personal development
  • Be able to take an organised approach to work, plan, monitor and adapt priorities
