As a Lead User Researcher, you will oversee all user research activity across the DDaT directorate, co-ordinating and prioritising the work across multiple teams. You will have responsibility for identifying and defining best practices and assuring best practice is upheld by the whole user research practice. You will also actively encourage, facilitate and demonstrate sharing of insights and best practices within the practice and wider organisation.
Within your role, you will champion and support the adoption of a wide range of key user research methods and analysis techniques in order to support the directorate in making informed decisions based on evidence-based user needs. Collaborating with the Head of User Research and the user research community, you will help to develop and assure good user research practice and promote a user-centred approach with senior stakeholders and ensure user needs are balanced with business goals within your workstreams.Responsibilities
To meet the requirements of this role, you have demonstrable experience on advising on the application of appropriate user research methods across different life cycle phases, as well as extensive hands-on experience in applying these methods. You have experience of understanding organisational strategy and objectives, setting direction and experience of aligning user research activity to this across multiple team and.establishing an effective user-centred design culture within an organisation.
You are a influential leader who has the ability to build and nurture strong working relationships with key stakeholders and can influence at an organisational level through evidence based complex decision making, whilst managing multiple deadlines and responding to changing priorities.
In addition, you have extensive experience of line managing, coaching and mentoring other user researchers and your expertise will be integral to guiding user researchers to develop as researchers in a 1:1 context as well as through the community of practice.
