Job description

The Role

Performance objectives

  • Understand corporate pensions business requirements including that for DC, DB and hybrid arrangements
  • Able to learn quickly and assimilate standard DC functional offering of BenefitConnect, iPA and ePA
  • External facing and represent Client Systems at internal and external client meetings.
  • Work independently with client managers, external consultants and clients to capture business requirements and translate this into logical, complete and unambiguous requirements for technical specialist to carry out.
  • Ability to listen to a business problem and offer practical solutions to meet business objectives
  • Lead more junior staff to take ownership and understand the implications of their role
  • Own all systems support and understand impact of any project on the client. Responsible for overall delivery and interdependent impact of these
  • Able to manage own time and juggle a number of conflicting priorities so all 'clients' are informed and understand position of their projects.
  • Able to analyse and scope a large part of all systems work and provide sufficient information for delegation of actual tasks
  • Scope and manage system projects against objectives and budgets. Able to report externally on these as required
  • Work collaboratively with onshore office, homebased and offshore teams as required
  • Able to pick up new business lines and adapt to formulate requirements for these
  • Able to juggle own time and switch priorities to ensure all key objectives are met
  • Able to analyse data and communicate requirements with external parties on transfer of data to meet business needs.
  • Able to recognise and willing to put in additional effort to manage peaks and lows in work load.

The Requirements

Specific technical skills
  • Good working knowledge of SQL
  • Familiar with data mining tools
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel / MS Word
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft project
  • Working knowledge of Unix preferable

General Experience
  • Worked in an implementation role DC/DB corporate admin business, with current working knowledge of the business
  • Led a large install or change project for corporate admin business
  • Hands on experience of data conversion process including data mapping and testing
  • Dealt with payroll and HR providers in data exchange projects
  • Managed / lead a number of medium to large projects simultaneously
