Job description

Through your apprenticeship you will undertake a Level 4 Standards in your chosen field and get exposure to traditional methodologies as well as newer agile and digital ones, whilst being supported by your manager and a buddy.

We have 3 exciting Level 4 apprenticeships roles - expected start date September 2021:

2 x IT Business Analyst Apprentice:

As a Business Analyst, you will become a trusted adviser to the business stakeholder and product owner. You will learn to provide independent and unbiased critical analysis ensuring outcomes and deliverables align with HM Land Registry's business strategy. You will build the confidence and skills to influence and negotiate with stakeholders and will learn how to elicit, document and manage user and business needs.

Business Analyst

2 x Tester:

As a Tester, you will contribute to ensuring the appropriate level of quality check is made at the appropriate stages of the software development lifecycle. You will work with the team to ensure that testing is carried out and that quality issues are sufficiently considered during development process. You will provide team members with practical advice and recommendations about resolving test issues and through this interaction will support delivery of a quality solution. Part of the role with involve writing high quality code to automate testing.

Tester

1 x Security Infrastructure Engineer

The Security Admin Team deliver a range of activities to support the implementation and compliance with HM Land Registry security policies. The team are responsible for the maintenance of information security controls across the organisation. This role will perform routine administration tasks, product upgrades and installs. On top of this the role will also support internal and external users with incident resolution and resolve infrastructural issues.

DDaT Open Evening

There will be an opportunity to attend a Virtual Open Evening on Wednesday 3rd March from 5.30 7.30pm to learn more about the roles and working at HM Land Registry.

Working for HM Land Registry/

ResponsibilitiesTo be successful in this apprenticeship, youll need to have 2 A Levels or Equivalent and have at least 5 GCSE's at grade C or grade 4 or above including Maths, English and ICT or science or equivalent.

You will understand the commitment needed to complete the Level 4 diploma apprenticeship and have a motivation for learning. You will be a competent user of computer software packages including knowledge of MS Office and email. Through your ability to think ahead, you will be able to anticipate problems and have excellent problem-solving skills. You can work as part of a team to achieve a team goal and can organise and prioritise your own work and tasks. You have effective and easy to understand communication skills (written and verbal) in a variety of situations

Due to Covid-19, the role will initially be home based so an induction and training will be carried out remotely, with full support from the team. Once safe to do so, your home office will be located in the vibrant waterfront city of Plymouth.

Qualifications
2 A Levels or equivalent
5 GCSEs grade 4 or grade C and above including Maths, English and ICT or Science or equivalent

Security

Successful candidates must pass a disclosure and barring security check.

Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is security check .

Selection process details

This vacancy is using Success Profiles , and will assess your Behaviours, Strengths, Ability and Experience.

To apply you will need to complete the short application form and take the online Civil Service Verbal test, Numerical Test and Judgement Test. Ideally you should take the tests by midday on 8 March 2020, to allow for the next stage of the application process.

The sift will take place shortly after the closing date. The final stage will consist of an interview and short exercise which will be conducted as a video interview w/c Monday 15 March 2021.
