Description As an Information Architect at HS2 you will be responsible for the development of an overarching information and data architecture for HS2, including structures, standards, policies, governance and models, to ensure we understand our information and can manage it effectively through the life of the programme. Provide guidance and strategic advice to IT delivery projects on the correct way to structure and manage information throughout its live-cycle.
About the role:
The Information Architect takes responsibility for information and data architecture:
Develops HS2's information model and ensures it is aligned with strategy (and other) needs
Ensures the information model is integrated with wider business and technology architectures such as the systems landscape and business capability requirements.
Has responsibility for aspects of developing and implementing the HS2 information and data strategy:
Advises stakeholders on improvements to information management and usage, assists teams to implement these improvement
Active part of IT project teams, designing Information Architecture aspects of a project and having responsibility for approving the Information Management products detailed in the IT project lifecycle.

Active engagement in information governance to review, approve, communicate and ensure adherence to the Information Management Strategy. Participates in the Information Governance Group providing information on IT projects and completing required actions.
Works closely with the Information Assurance team to ensure HS2 information is managed safely, securely and legally. Takes responsibility for reporting and escalating issues with information security.
Works with the HS2 supply chain e.g. Main Works Civils Contractors. Reviews Information Management deliverables they produce to make sure they meet HS2 requirements.
Assures the quality of data:
Gate keeper for data standards and practices across multiple projects, facilitate workshops with other architects within the programme.
Advises Information Asset Owners on best practise for managing data to ensure quality.
Qualifications About You:
This roles has generic responsibilities and accountabilities to SFIA level 5. (SFIA - Skills Framework for the Information Age). The relevant SFIA skills are:
Enterprise and business architecture development (STPL) at level 5
Information Governance (IRMG) at level 6
Data management (DATM) at level 6
Information Assurance (INAS) at level 5
Specialist Advice (TECH) at level 5 - with specialism for Information Architecture
Stakeholder relationship management (RLMT) at level 5
Knowledge of architecture frameworks and processes (e.g. TOGAF)
Knowledge of the process to define requirements for, and deliver, technology and business change.
Ability to create both conceptual and logical data models to meet business or IT solution requirements
Knowledge of architectural tools such as Sparx EA, Casewise or ERwin
Experience and understanding of defining and building information/data models to provide a full understanding of data and expose relevant issues, risks and opportunities
Experience or clear understanding of information/data modelling in the context of organisational business architecture and IT architecture
Experience of working in large, complex organisations with multiple data requirements
Experience of information or data architecture or strategy, or similar, in large organisations
