ILS Engineer

A great opportunity has arisen for an ILS Engineer to work for our leading Aerospace & Defence company in the Christchurch area of Dorset. This ILS Engineer role will be working on several new and existing programmes being developed and delivered into the UK MoD across all three Services.

The Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) Engineer will be responsible for the planning and execution of all ILS elements during system specification, design, production, deployment, maintenance and retirement.

The ILS Engineer will serve as the focal point for all matters regarding Integrated Logistics Support towards the customer as well as within the project to other project functions and subcontractors. You will work closely with the Systems Design and Engineering Teams as well as with Project Management. This role will allow for the opportunity to carry out varied work across different programmes and projects.

Your main responsibilities as a ILS Engineer will involve:

Assist with the definition and development of product support engineering capability, as required by performance based logistic support contracts

Schedule adherence of all ILS activities to agreed milestones

Responsiveness of bid and project preparation requirements

Audit compliance with defined ILS procedures

Contribution to improvement in Engineering Key Performance Indicators

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential skills:

Knowledge of engineering drawings

Knowledge of defence standards for supportability and related specifications, e.g. Defence Standard 00-600 for Integrated Logistic Support, S1000D for Technical Publications, S2000M for Provisioning and spares management and Defence Standard 00-40 for Reliability Analysis

Experience of engineering systems and maintenance

Verbal and written communications abilities and experience of reporting and presenting ILS material will be necessary

Desirable skills:

Practical application of FMEA/ (failure modes and effects analysis) FMECA (failure modes, effects and criticality analysis) and Reliability Predictions and Cases is highly desirable

Knowledge and experience of ILS principles is highly desirable and experience in the use of ILS techniques

Experience of Supportability Analysis and performance based logistic support contracting

You will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and be confident with the ability to give presentations. You must be able to prioritise and manage your own workload.

Location: Christchurch

Salary: £36,000 circa
