Job Description The successful candidate will be accountable for delivering the activities that support the process management strategy for all HR activities across the Sainsbury's Group. Where business critical processes are identified, you'll lead on the mapping and ensure that procedures, key controls, segregation of duties, and standards of governance are all documented. You'll be responsible for identifying opportunities for best practice and efficiencies across the full suite of HR activities, and will utilise best practice Continuous Improvement and Lean methodologies in their work.
Where new or changed HR policy and operations are identified across all parts of the HR division, you'll help to identify opportunities for driving efficiencies in process, procedures and workflow - whilst balancing the need to deliver quality. You'll input to the development of best practice and assist the wider Process team in the development of Lean practices where appropriate. You'll work through any actions that require process or RACI review resulting from a Group Internal Audit report action to help conclude the action as appropriate.
What you need to do
Contribute to the delivery of the Process Improvement service ensuring a high standard of performance across all Group HR processes, whether they are executed within HR or by line managers or colleagues elsewhere in the business
Participate in HR and Corporate projects to support with process mapping where changes are required
Apply process improvement methodology (LEAN Six Sigma) to re-design processes that support the improvement of cost, quality and service
Track process improveme nts through to benefits realisation, and document and report on improvement progress with metrics
Work in collaboration with HR colleagues to deliver on process improvement projects working to an annual plan for process review and CI projects that will be continually under review
Support process design and implementation of new services and activities into the HR teams and that are developed by HR teams for management use across the business
Provide support to HR system changes giving input on process changes that may be required
Deliver process documentation (process maps and RACI) where processes are changed or new processes are implemented ensuring this stays up to date at all times
Contribute to the maintenance of the process taxonomy for key delivery functions within Group HR, participating in continuous review
Facilitate customer and business user focus groups to obtain feedback and challenge business practices
Deliver data integrity analysis and controls to review and validate data for process improvement opportunities, and identify gaps in data records
Develop effective working relationships with stakeholders and customers, escalating to the Lead Process Owner where blockers arise
Participate in the development of a CI network within Group HR, supporting yellow belts across the HR Operations team and the CofEs and driving activity that embeds a Lean mindset
What you need to know
Credible subject matter expertise in all aspects of Continuous Improvement with a minimum of Six Sigma Yellow Belt training or similar
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to identify opportunities using data to drive direction
Good understanding or HR with specific knowledge in areas of high volume or complex process activity such as HR Operations, Resourcing, Payroll etc.
Good communication skills and stakeholder awareness that facilitates engagement and buy in for change
Facilitation and presentation skills that enable the effective development of process maps and associated controls
