Job description

Reporting to the Global Talent Advisor for the Human Capital and Benefits (“HCB”) segment, the Business Talent Advisor and Learning and Development Lead provides talent advisory support for senior business leaders who are strategic decision makers, helping to implement elements of segment/function-specific talent strategies to address business priorities, and will be responsible for driving and executing the HCB learning and development strategy. This role partners with HR Centers of Expertise (COEs), other Talent Advisors, and Global HR Operations and Regional HR Delivery to identify talent issues and implement enterprise initiatives, validating needs for alternative approaches if needed, staying within the scope and priorities of the global HR operating model. Additionally, this role engages beyond the primary organization alignment as needed, modeling agile support across HR, development of individual capability and sharing of best practices for achieving objectives and supporting continuous improvement in the function.

The Role

Talent Advisor - 75%*
  • Engages with senior business leaders to understand the business strategy, implementing talent strategies that operationalize business objectives and align with the HR operating model. Talent strategies will include aspects such as workforce dynamics, total rewards priorities and spending, leadership talent attraction and development, talent reviews and succession planning, change leadership, action planning related to engagement survey results, and inclusion and diversity.
  • With direction from the Global Talent Advisor, partners with senior business leaders, other Talent Advisors, HR Centers of Expertise (COEs), Global HR Operations and Regional HR Delivery to anticipate the demand for and plan the delivery of HR services as described in the HR service catalogue, in line with the business budget/financial contribution goal.
  • Helps identify and escalate bespoke HR talent service requirements which are outside standard scope and budget outlined in the HR service catalogue.
  • Partners with senior business leaders in the planning of business and organization changes, working with HR colleagues from across the function with the required expertise and capabilities.
  • Acts as confidential advisor to senior business leaders on matters relating to human resources and oversees HR services applicable to individual senior level business colleagues/leaders. Coaches leaders to champion and use the HR operating model, including technology enabled tiered HR support model.
  • Supports HR Generalist/Employee Relations colleagues to execute HR services in alignment with legal requirements and company policy.
  • Leverages data and insights to make evidence-based decisions, and supports business leaders in the independent use of reporting tools.
  • Supports data analysis and assists in other projects or areas of HR as needed.

Learning & Development Lead - 25%*
  • Manage, with a continuous improvement approach, HCB learning and development programs and platforms which are global in nature, such as specific training programs to build knowledge to address specific business or geographic needed, as well as external programs
  • Conduct a detailed content review of existing HCB Leadership Development Programs, identify opportunities for content consolidation and cross business leverage, and partner with HCB professionals to implement recommendation as agreed by a steering committee
  • Establish and lead a global HCB L&D Forum, ensuring sharing of best practices, leveraging of content, and efficiency gains
  • Understand large scale and priority development requirements for HCB, culminating in a clearly defined road map
  • Maintain a current inventory of all HCB learning and development programs; Identify opportunities for collaboration and efficiency
  • Review HCB-specific content (typically developed by HCB professionals who would do most of the actual development) to ensure alignment with WTW principles and content
  • Assist with development and execution of a practical knowledge management strategy

*Time spent will ebb and flow based on current demands, with the Talent Advisor role maintaining priority at all times

The Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Human Resources Partner/Advisor and L&D Specialist, preferably in the financial or professional services industry, partnering with executives and senior leaders
  • Experience with adult learning design and delivery
  • Knowledge of learning management systems, experience with Cornerstone on Demand and Oracle a plus
  • Proven ability to navigate an organization matrix
