Role summary

The role of HR BP is responsible for providing HR leadership, deployment of the business People Strategy & Plan and management of delivery of HR services to meet requirements and objectives for a project, business unit or area of the business. This role will support areas of the business in Continental Europe and the Middle East.

What you'll be doing

  • Contributes to the project, business unit or area of the business strategy and strategic direction to meet business objectives and requirements.
  • Contributes to the development of the business People Strategy and implements and ensures alignment of the Strategy with business requirements and objectives.
  • Aligns HR schemes and solutions with the business requirements and objectives and ensures successful embedding of enterprise and business HR schemes and initiatives in the project, business unit or area of the business.
  • Ensures a translation of the business People Strategy and Plan and provides market/business insights to inform development of the business People Plan.
  • Ensures alignment and delivery of HR solutions provided by CoE SME's, HR Shared Services and 3rd parties with project, business unit or area of the business objectives and requirements.
  • Coordinates, aligns and leverages the HR function and resources, within the business, the CoE and HR Shared Services to deliver the business People Plan.
  • Sponsors, leads, drives and ensures delivery of complex business change projects, ensures alignment with People Strategy and Plan, and realisation of business and People Plan benefits/objectives.
  • Responds to Tier 3 queries that are of a strategic or brand reputational nature or may adversely impact on the top executive management of the business.
  • Review and development of in country policies and HR processes specific to Europe and Middle Eastern regions.
  • Working with third parties to establish implementation of HR processes aligned to local employment law.

What we're looking for

  • European HR experience including France. Experience of Germany, Spain, Belgium and the Middle East is desirable but not essential.
  • Business fluent in French and English.
  • An understanding of HR systems, theories and practices pertaining to the People Strategy and plan, and activities of the business. Ability to lead the HR Function within a business through the deployment of a wide range of HR techniques.
  • Ability to translate strategy into action creating winning solutions and output for the business. Able to influence development of corporate policy and adapt and deploy for local implementation, and ability to integrate, set targets, and co-ordinate activity across business units.
  • Understands the complexities and subtleties of the business area supported, including understanding of scale, complexity, sensitivity, ambiguity, risk or strategic impact.
  • An effective communicator, able to manage messages into multiple audience, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the markets in which BAE Systems operates in including, competitors, customers, technologies and trends. Requires an understanding of customer and customer requirements plus an awareness of industry approaches and standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills. Can make evaluative judgments of both factual and qualitative information drawn from a variety of sources.
  • Degree in HR / Business and / or CIPD.
