About this vacancy

Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals (BSUH) is an acute teaching hospital. Our aim is to provide care and treatment of the highest standard, leading edge teaching and research, pioneer new techniques and to keep improving everything we do.

The Trust provides treatment to over three quarters of a million patients each year working across two main sites, The Royal Sussex County Hospital including the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton and the Princess Royal Hospital including the Hurstwood Park Neurosciences unit in Haywards Heath. The Department of Imaging provides services on all of these sites and in addition to this we provide a service at Hove Polyclinic.

The department employs around 220 staff across all sites. The Trust's specialised and tertiary services include neurosciences, arterial vascular surgery, neonatal, paediatrics, cardiac, cancer, renal, infectious diseases and HIV medicine. We are also the major trauma centre for Sussex and the South East.

Brighton is a vibrant cosmopolitan city by the sea and the nearby town of Haywards Heath has easy access to the South Downs National Park. Both are within one hour of London by train.

We require an enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team in the Imaging Department.

You will be required to assist qualified nurses, radiographers and radiologists in giving a high standard of quality care to our patients and will support the team in the smooth running of the department.

You will be required to work as part of the multidisciplinary team, maintaining a professional and caring manner.

You will gain a variety of experiences working in various areas of the department including the CT scanner, ultrasound department, MRI and barium screening.

You will be based at Royal Sussex County Hospital and rotate to Princess Royal Hospital and Hove Polyclinic.

Previous nursing experience is desirable but full training will be given.

Support will be provided to help you develop your skills within this speciality.

The department is supported by a team of Lead Superintendent Radiographers and Nurses including a Lead Superintendent for Professional Development and a Clinical Governance Manager with a radiography background.

Full Time 37.5 hrs\/wk between the hours of 08.30 to 20.00 including weekends

Please note this does not apply to Bank only applicants.
