This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Market Operations team

UK&I is about to commence its 4 th year on the journey to achieve its V2020 Ambition of £2.2 Billion by 2020. The Go to Market function part of the matrix led by the UK&I Markets Leader is critical in driving the Region towards that Ambition.
The priorities in enabling and driving profitable growth for both TNR and GTER are:
  • Ensuring our prioritized Industries (and accounts) are embedded in our Go to Market approach;
  • Integrated planning between Service Lines and UK&I's Geographic Segments (e.g. London, Ireland and National Markets);
  • Maximizing the opportunity in Channel Shift across the FTSE 350 through a clear strategy and execution plan;
  • Improving the return on our investment in BMC and BD; and
  • Prioritizing investment and focus on key trade routes.
The Head of Markets Operations role is akin to a COO for Markets including BD and BMC. It involves operating all traditional processes for the Markets function which contains more than 300 people and a budget in excess of £40 Million. These processes include those relating to functional improvement, Talent management, budgetary matters processes and all MI processes.

UKI Markets requirements associated with the demand side (GTER, sales and pipeline for SLs and market segments):

Monthly overview of the market segment GTER performance against targets - work with the Industry and Mid-Market segment leads

Provide monthly insight on key trends and potential risks / opportunities in the UKI / SL / SSL / market segment pipelines at key meetings:

MPRs - lead in prep session and at meetings on the key insights the sales and pipeline analysis can add to the monthly SL performance discussion (what is it telling us re the outlook for each area)

G360 - support RMP in the operational oversight of the G360 portfolio, this includes monthly performance review, overview of the NBD spend and management of the budget and additional investment pot, consolidation on the MLP

Operational leader for key processes across Markets, including BD and BMC ( including measurement, reporting and analysis) as follows:-

Lead MLP / Revenue planning - lead on the design of the process / engagement with EMEIA and Global / comms to all key stakeholder / responsible for the final reconciliation to MLP targets by SL and Market segment. Engage with the Head of Market Execution to ensure future growth strategies / risks and opportunities are reflected in the financials and supporting narrative

Oversight of the design, build and production by Finance of all Management Information (MI) to support:

T he Markets Management team manage the function and operate effectively;

T he broader business including Segments and the Service Lines manage their Go To Market activities (e.g Sales and Pipeline); and

Ownership of the 'New Business Development budget' for UKI:

Manage the NBD spend and the process for the allocation of additional investment based on funding template

Includes monthly / quarterly / half year review with key stakeholders, interventions to resolve key spend issues, sign off on key proposed spending on the development of the interface with the firm.

Support to UKI Markets key projects - understand their impact and input on how to maximise to drive value out of them for the UKI practice (Project Snowball / Project Mercury / Ambition Planning)

Drive innovation into the Markets function and its delivery of data and insights to the firm: manage the innovation board for markets, this forum challenges us to drive automation into our processes (reporting GTER, Sales and pipeline / NBD / FMT automation )

Work with UK&I, EMEIA and Global (and lead) on ad hoc operational initiatives in Markets, BD and BMC:

Particular focus to lead on the key reporting requirements into EMEIA and global and providing insight into the UKI performance against KPIs. Maintain relationships with markets teams across the EMEIA network.

Talent

On behalf of the Markets Management team, manage the enablement team and ensure all operational platforms for people in the Markets function (including BD and BMC) are in place and operate effectively, (e.g. recruitment, scorecard setting, review, pay awards, people engagement matters, disciplinary);

Management and support of FMT team - support the lead of FMT team in the delivery of their strategy, resourcing requirements / challenges and stakeholder management

To qualify for the role you must have:

Level 5 Director with ability to operate at senior level and deal confidently with Partners in leadership roles, demonstrating strong commercial acumen. Is comfortable with transformational change agendas, ambiguity, and has experience in understanding how to achieve sustainable change within the business.

Professional, confident, credible communicator, able to deal effectively with all levels through meetings and presentations . Commitment and ability to work under pressure at peak times. Robust, resilient, calm and pragmatic under pressure.

Analyses complex or unusual problems and is able to deliver insightful and pragmatic solutions with a track record in driving profitable growth agendas.

Proactive, organised and self-sufficient with ability to prioritise and multitask. Highly team oriented approach, with flexibility regarding tasks undertaken and the ability to prioritise a number of conflicting demands to meet exacting deadlines whilst maintaining a clear sense of direction.

Exposure to performance improvement and cost reduction methodologies, process mapping, off-shoring strategy or implementation.

Currently working within EY or with a strong Big 4 track record and in-depth, hands-on experience of business operations management.

Ideally, you'll also have:

Proactive, organised and self-sufficient with ability to prioritise and multitask. Highly team oriented approach, with flexibility regarding tasks undertaken and the ability to prioritise a number of conflicting demands to meet exacting deadlines whilst maintaining a clear sense of direction.
