Job description

The role

The climate for claims against directors has never been more hostile. Whether for the consequences of a significant cyber-attack or a serious regulatory breach or as a result of other corporate scandal or collapse, the focus on personal accountability at board level is unrelenting.

This position will be working as the GB Head of FINEX D&O (Directors & Officers) and FINEX GB Chief of Broking.

GB Head of FINEX D&O
  • Developing and driving the D&O GB business strategy, ensuring alignment with Global FINEX and FINEX GB strategies
  • Drive D&O revenue and operating income growth through robust financial management, achieving new business targets and focusing on operational excellence
  • Foster a culture of colleague engagement across London and Ipswich teams through a focus on people management, colleague development and dedication to inclusion and diversity priorities
  • Facilitate the team's development of strong market relationships
  • Provide leadership on the WTW values and behaviours to maintain high levels of integrity and morale

FINEX GB Chief of Broking
  • Lead FINEX brokers to deliver a differentiated client experience and drive broking excellence through the sharing of best practice, monitoring of KPIs and development of solutions leading to best in class client experiences
  • Monitor and manage Market Derived Income performance, activity and variances
  • Support broking strategy through objective setting, communication and knowledge sharing across FINEX
  • Act as FINEX liaison to Group leadership for all broking related activity including ensuring adherence to group broking controls & procedures

The requirements

  • Deep understanding of the D&O sector, with proven reputation and track record of engagement with significant players
  • Excellent knowledge of the insurance market in order to address client, market and/or technical issues
  • Extensive knowledge of the insurance market and ability to understand potential conflicts of interest in broking activity
  • Ability to demonstrate evidence of a highly professional and credible approach across the broking market community, resulting in an understanding of client and technical issues and capability to solve
  • Excellent leadership skills, with a proven track record of building successful commercial businesses; of developing people; and of instilling high standards of ethical behaviour
  • Strong skills in problem solving, planning and budgeting
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence within a matrix environment
  • Strong facilitation skills - able to use inclusive and collaborative styles to manage ambiguity and gain agreement
  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to act as an ambassador for the Company
  • Preferably educated to a degree, or MBA level (or country equivalent)
  • Preferably with professional qualifications, e.g. ACII or similar country equivalent, or relevant industry experience
