You will be working in a team of UI and C/C++ engineers who are working to develop command and control interfaces, supporting advanced radio capabilities for a Defence customer. Your role will be user interface development for which we use mainly web technologies for user interface development but also deploy to desktop environments. Useful skills and technologies include: Docker, vagrant, ECMAScript, TypeScript, React, Electron, Node.js, jest, REST, JSON, Protocol Buffers, Material Design. Others in the team will be more focused on developing the application in C/C++. Background knowledge of wireless technologies is an advantage so you understand the domain within which the data the user interface is representing.
As we are a small team it is expected that everyone pitches in with DevOps/infrastructure/housekeeping tasks. Useful skills and technologies include: Jenkins, puppet, Linux system administration, bash scripting, python, Docker, vagrant.
You are also expected to have general development tool experience including git, JIRA, Confluence and agile development practices.
The role will be primarily based in Guildford but travel to client site in Wiltshire will be required in order to work closely with the client on the UI design.
This role will require SC clearance and a DV would be advantageous or you need to be willing to go through the DV process.
