Job description

The Role

The FCA is undergoing a major transformation program involving clarifying our role publicly and reshaping our operating model to deliver against an organization-wide strategy.

As part of this process how the organization plans and manages ongoing performance against its newly defined strategy is transforming. The role of financial and operational planning, investment governance, and performance management will play a key role in the operational transformation programme. This role will lead this FP&A transformation, developing capability, and the internal role of this finance function.

What does the role involve?

This person will own, develop and implement a business-critical change to financial planning across the organisation.

The key responsibilities include:
  • Develop Financial and operational planning framework, and implementation approach
  • Lead the organization through the behavioral and role and responsibility changes that this framework requires
  • Consult and communicate across the organization
  • Work with members of the Transformation programme and wider operations teams (including key peers within finance) to design, socialize, and implement a new financial and operational planning framework across the organization
  • Communicate and liaise with senior stakeholders to refine the design and implementation of this framework including organizational impact


What will the candidate get from the role?

This person will play a critical role in establishing the future role of planning, forecasting and performance management across the organisation, and will be a key culture carrier for operational excellence. It will involve significant senior management and c-suite engagement to embed operational and behavioural change through planning, prioritisation, and delivery measurement frameworks.

The role will create opportunities for exposure to senior decision making and the overall transformation agenda.

Minimum Criteria

  • Proven experience of leading FP&A teams through transformation
  • Evidence of financial transformation
  • Previous experience as an FP&A
  • Evidence of senior stakeholder management

Required professional knowledge / experience:
  • Experience of designing and building FP&A teams
