Job description

The Change Manager will play a key role in the Reinsurance Division of Investment, Risk and Reinsurance, Willis Re, delivering change initiatives meet intended objectives on time and on budget through effective and successful employee adoption and usage. Initial focus will be leading change management and change adoption delivery of an established programme of work to develop and deliver a digital reinsurance placement platform across our organisation.

The Role

This person will focus on the people side of change, including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organisation structures. The primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change management plans that maximise employee adoption and usage and minimise resistance. The Change Manager will work to drive faster adoption, higher ultimate utilisation of and proficiency with the changes that impact employees. These improvements will increase benefit realisation, value creation, return on investment and the achievement of results and outcomes.

While the Change Manager may or may not have supervisory responsibility, this person will need to network and liaise effectively across the Willis Re organisation in order to succeed. The Change Manager will act as a coach for senior leaders and executives in helping them fulfill the role of change leader/advocate. The Change Manager will also provide direct support and coaching to all levels of managers and supervisors as they help their direct reports through transitions. The Change Manager will also work as part of project teams and own the integration of change management activities as part of project delivery.

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Build and own operational implementation plans
  • Support communication efforts and the design, development, delivery and management of communications.

  • Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness and identify key stakeholders.

  • Support training efforts

  • Complete change management assessments and Identify, analyse and prepare risk mitigation tactics

  • Identify and manage anticipated resistance

  • Consult and coach business teams

  • Create actionable deliverables for the five change management levers: communications plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, resistance management plan

  • Support and engage senior leaders

  • Coach managers and supervisors

  • Support organisational design and definition of roles and responsibilities

  • Coordinate efforts with other specialists

  • Evaluate and ensure business readiness

  • Be the Willis Re change management representative at a WTW group level


  • A demonstrable track record of leading organisational change delivery
  • Experience with large-scale organisational change efforts
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels in an organisation
  • Team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others


  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
  • Forward looking with a holistic approach

  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organisational issues and challenges
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
  • Change management certification or designation desired
  • Experience of working in globally distributed teams
  • (Re)Insurance broking domain knowledge
