Exposure Management Analyst

Talbot are leaders in the War and Terrorism, Energy, Marine, Financial Lines and Cyber insurance sectors. We also focus on additional specialty classes such as transport, political risk, crisis management, kidnap and ransom, contingency, property and treaty reinsurance.
The Exposure Management team is a small, supportive and efficient team at Talbot that deliver pragmatic but innovative solutions to exposure related challenges posed by senior management, underwriters and the broader Company. These solutions add true value to the business at all levels through analytics that are insightful, intuitive and accurate. The team has a diverse range of skills and experience but consistently show a strong willingness to help others, strong problem solving skills and a good knowledge of areas in the business other than Exposure Management.
The successful candidate will primarily contribute to supporting and analysing the Political Violence book. With exposure analytics being highlighted as one of the strengths of the Centre of Excellence, the analyst will be a key part of ensuring the successful delivery of the strategy for Political Violence growth.
As Exposure Management Analyst your skills and qualifications will include:-
- Experience in a relevant role (e.g. Catastrophe Modelling, Exposure Management, Model Vendor)
- Experience of Direct and Treaty business
- Experience of regulatory returns (RDS, S&P, AM Best etc.)
- Degree in relevant subject (e.g. Natural Hazards, Mathematics, Sciences)
- Knowledge of Cat models (RMS preferred)
- Strong SQL skills
- Knowledge and interest in other programming languages (e.g. R, Python, C#, VBA)
- Good understanding of the back tables of Cat models
- Good understanding of data extraction and report building
- Knowledge of various classes of business across both Direct and Treaty business
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent project management and organisational skills
