Job description

The role

The climate for claims against directors has never been more hostile. Whether for the consequences of a significant cyber-attack or a serious regulatory breach or as a result of other corporate scandal or collapse, the focus on personal accountability at board level is unrelenting.

You will:

  • Work alongside the D&O (Directors and Officers) team to provide client and prospect programme and wording reviews and drive bespoke coverage solutions and enhancement
  • Contribute towards the development of the team by providing actionable recommendations that can be taken to the market for further negotiation and by educating brokers on the rationale for coverage changes with a view to enhancing their knowledge and driving best practice
  • Become a contributing voice to emerging risk trends by monitoring the legal and regulatory industry landscape and publishing insightful, expert analysis for the benefit of clients (written blogs, articles, in-depth papers etc.)
  • Collaborate with industry leaders and FINEX Claim & Legal Group with regards to language amendments/modifications, as well as claims inquiries as needed
  • Liaise with teams across FINEX & WTW to drive client led product innovation


The requirements

  • Deep understanding of financial, executive and professional risk insurance underwriting, broking, legal or risk management
  • Excellent knowledge of D&O insurance coverage and policy wording
  • Strong facilitation skills - able to use inclusive and collaborative styles to manage ambiguity and gain agreement
  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Legally qualified
  • Preferably educated to a degree, or MBA level (or country equivalent)
  • Preferably with professional qualifications, e.g. ACII or similar country equivalent, or relevant industry experience
