Job description

Summary of Role

We have an exciting opportunity within our London-based manager research team: in a role to identify, interview, assess and monitor the best public equity investors around the world. You will have the opportunity to work with our portfolio management teams and interact with clients. As an important member of our research team you will work in close collaboration with colleagues globally and become a leading subject-matter expert.

The Role
  • Source and analyse new investment ideas globally
  • Monitor existing investment strategies used by our clients
  • Critically evaluate fund managers' competitive advantages. Assess culture, team behavioural and diversity traits and form judgement on investment skill by analysing the portfolio, the consistency and efficacy of investment decisions
  • Assess fund managers' long-term return sustainability with a focus on ESG criteria
  • Interpret a wide range of quantitative and qualitative data to support decision making
  • Produce investment recommendations and participate in investment committee discussions

The Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
  • Equity research experience: either via researching asset managers or, preferably, direct company analysis
  • Original and creative thinker with a willingness to provide fresh perspectives and an ability to incorporate a “big picture” view
  • Curious and enthusiastic self-starter who is able to balance independent work with team collaboration
  • Analytical mind-set with an openness to other opinions and fact-oriented disposition
  • Strong understanding of financial modelling and intellectual inquisitiveness
  • CFA or IFoA qualified or progression towards either of these qualifications desirable but not essential
