About Us
To ensure that the full range of Solvency II documentation, particularly that relating to risk and capital is updated and approved on a regular and timely basis in accordance with agreed policies and standards.
The Role
To assist with the production of overseas regulatory filings, funding and where applicable financial statements. The team covers US, Canada, South Africa, Hong Kong, Australia and Switzerland. Additional/new territories may be added.
What Will You Do?
Policy and standards
  • Continue to improve documentation policy, process and standards, providing guidance to a variety of subject matter experts who contribute to Solvency II documents
  • Plan, lead and co-ordinate the annual process to review and update all these policies, ensuring appropriate governance and approvals. Develop new documents as required.
  • Create and maintain working templates for the market reserving and capital team
Risk and capital documentation
  • Manage the maintenance of a Documentation Inventory (Excel) and SharePoint site containing a library of current and prior versions of more than 100 documents relevant to risk and capital management
  • Co-ordination and tracking for the completion of these across the various document owners
  • Lead operations for the Lloyd's Internal Model validation process, tracking completion and submission of documentation and ensuring relevant validation comments are addressed
  • Lead operations and documentation for Major Model Change application processes (expected every year or two), including delivery of specific application documents
  • Manage change initiatives and process improvement initiatives impacting Solvency II processes, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
  • Co-ordinate and support technical updates to annual risk and capital documentation appropriately across the various component owners
Stakeholder management
  • Liaising and building relationships at all levels within the organisation particularly with the capital and risk functions including heads of department, managers and analyst communities
What You'll Need
  • Proven communication skills with a variety of techniques including clear and highquality documents for senior management
  • Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills proactive, engaging, able to drive progress, improvement and delivery involving a range of subject matter experts
  • Proven planning, prioritisation and issue resolution skills
  • Able to deliver in a timely and efficient manager when under time pressure
  • Ability to work autonomously and proactively to meet deliverables
  • Familiarity with documentation branding, templates, standards, editing and version control
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications and SharePoint
  • Advanced MS Word ability e.g. to adjust templates or formats, manage an edit and review process
  • Familiarity with the Solvency II directive and requirements (ideal but not essential)
  • Experience of producing governance and technical documents in a complex, regulated environment (ideally Solvency II or insurance experience but not essential)
  • Experience of reviewing documents against agreed criteria and proving feedback to other document authors
  • Experience of managing a process requiring inputs, review and formal approvals from across multiple departments / committees
