The Challenge This is an exciting opportunity to join the Defence Infrastructure Organisation which is a business unit within the MoD and will shortly be embarking on a new contract change to the Future Defence Infrastructure Services (FDIS). FDIS incorporates three key principles of Excellent Performance from Suppliers and DIO, Empathetic handling of Customer and Families and Improved Customer Communications.
The post of Housing Estate Manager is multifaceted and necessitates tasks carried out at both the desktop and on the MoD Estate. The successful candidate will be a motivated, self-starter who is able to manage and prioritise workloads according to contract deliverables and risk based analysis and to establish relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
The successful candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to build relationships that promote collaboration between a range of stakeholders that support continual improvement. They must be forward thinking, have the ability to see the bigger picture with an awareness of sustainability concepts, able to produce novel ideas that contribute to the 'lived experience'. They must have an awareness of contract compliance principles that drive performance results and a determination to change and improve especially when difficult situations arise.

Contract deliverables assurance both on and off the Estate
Stakeholder management
Property inspections to determine condition and inspection of building works
Resolution of complaints
In occupation queries and working with supply chain partners to resolve difficulties
Total patch management with strong emphasis on improvement strategy
Identification of supply chain capability gaps
Ensure local compliance with legislative and mandatory requirement
Management of the Bulk Lease properties including move in/move out appointments, raising work orders, over seeing maintenance works and void checks
Travel Requirements This post will include significant daily travel within the areas of business all of which have a wide geographic spread and will include the use of government provided vehicle.

The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) is the estate expert for Defence, supporting the armed forces to enable military capability by planning, building, maintaining, and servicing infrastructure.
Our responsibilities include: Plan and deliver major capital projects and lifecycle refurbishment
Provide utilities services
Manage soft facilities management (i.e. cleaning and catering)
Provide a safe place to train
Allocate Service Families Accommodation

Provide a central register of asset information to advise infrastructure planning
