Creating these insights requires a capability to source, organise and present data to experts and users in a way that resonates with their business strategy. Being able to do this is pivotal to Lloyd's in facilitating the reduction of operating costs and to protect and grow the Lloyd's market globally.
The Role
For a portfolio of Lloyd's delivery projects / programmes, represent Data Lab's interests and provide leadership and oversight of Data Lab involvement and data related deliveries.
What Will You Do?
  • Be a single point of contact for senior leaders for the project and Data Lab
  • Working with our Business Analysis team to diagnose business requirements, ensuring all aspects of data are considered Governance, Architecture, Operations, Analytics, and Products
  • Proactively influence the design, development and implementation of the Data strategy in conjunction with the project board
  • Support performance delivery, leveraging shared services and centres of excellence
  • Ensure the successful delivery of functional strategies/changes/initiatives in their customer functions and ensure service levels are achieved
  • Actively lead on the Data change agenda within the organisation from a Data Business Partner perspective
  • Oversee the delivery of requirements, including governance and testing
  • Work in a matrix, aligned to Data Lab both function, departments and customer requirements
  • Contribute to an open and transparent culture of risk management and demonstrate a strong awareness of the risks that should be managed within the responsibilities of the role; and
  • Deliver responsibilities in line with all relevant risk appetites, policies, reporting and when applicable, membership on or input to Lloyd's risk committees.
What You'll Need
Ability to:
  • Define and articulate the strategic Data Lab vision and translate it into implementable steps for the area of accountability
  • Engage and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders
  • Build relationships with and influence senior stakeholders
  • Understand and work across a matrix management structure and achieve results
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships
Knowledge of:
  • Commercial insurance industry, terminology and strategic drivers
  • Different Data services and components and how they can be used together for optimum capabilities e.g. different types of data visualisation and traditional reporting tools, data sourcing techniques for web services and external data, data exploitation techniques.
  • Standard organisational functions (HR, marketing, finance, treasury)
  • Experience of Business Partnering or similar role on a global basis and at Senior levels
  • Substantial experience of data services and/or business intelligence
  • Experience of either Commercial Insurance operations or corporate operations
  • Proven Change management experience and confidence in working with ambiguity.
  • Exposure to and experience of global and complex matrix organisations
  • Effective leadership and influencing skills
  • Initiative and sound judgement
  • Commercially focused and results oriented
  • Resilience and ability to delivery under pressure
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills with emphasis on communication skills and relationship management
