Job description

*Please note this is a 12 month fixed-term contract which can be based in one of our offices in Bristol, Norwich, York or Sheffield*

Aviva's UK Life business is looking for someone to coordinate the change processes and commercial aspects of contracts we have with specific outsourced suppliers. The Contracts and Commercial Consultant will be responsible for ensuring these contracts align with Aviva business objectives, risk appetite and strategy.

You will be involved in proactive contract and commercial management across two key suppliers to guarantee that the governance that's in place is comprehensive and working well. You will also be called upon to explore continued improvements to supplier engagement processes.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Ensure all contract obligations and changes are managed and align with Aviva standards and policies.
  • Manage change engagement processes effectively, in line with contractual obligations.
  • Identify and support the resolution of non-compliant contractual obligations.
  • Review change cost estimates from suppliers to ensure cost effectiveness and challenge these where necessary.
  • Day to day liaison with primary colleagues and supplier contacts.
  • Responsible for the provision of supplier change reporting (e.g. total spend, regulatory and/or commercial concerns).

Skills and Experience
  • Good commercial and contracts knowledge gained from working in a contract management team is preferable but we may also consider someone with commercial experience (relationship management, Excel etc.) and a proven willingness to learn about contract management.
  • A self-starter with enthusiasm, lots of personal initiative and organisational skills.
  • Strong capabilities with Microsoft Excel.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Experience of dealing with outsource suppliers would be greatly advantageous.
  • Experience of working under pressure and delivering results.
  • CIPS qualification would be helpful, but not essential.

  • Salary of £30,000 - £34,000 depending on skills, qualifications and experience.
