This post is for a 1.0 WTE substantive Consultant Psychiatrist working in London Borough of Haringey Perinatal Psychiatry Service . This is an exciting role where the post holder will join three other Consultant Psychiatrists to provide psychiatric input to the integrated trust wide Perinatal Mental Health service. It is a newly created 10 PA post following successful award of new funding for the service. The post holder will be supported by the multidisciplinary team.

North London Partners Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Service (SPMHS)The North London Partners Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Service (SPMHS) was established in 2016/17 and provides assessment, treatment interventions and well co-ordinated care pathways for parents and their babies experiencing moderate to severe mental ill health during the perinatal period (from pre-conception up to 12 months of age). The Service covers the London Boroughs of Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey.In line with national guidelines, the expanded service will in future work with women from pre-conception up until 24 months after delivery.

There are five maternity hospitals - University College London Hospital, Whittington Hospital, Royal Free Hospital, Barnet Hospital and North Middlesex University Hospital. The model consists of a West hub, covering Barnet, East hub covering Haringey and Enfield boroughs and a South Hub covering Camden, and Islington boroughs. It is hoped that there will be three team bases, one at St Pancras Hospital and another location in both Barnet and South Enfield.(currently being identified) Staff are expected to work flexibly across sites.

The post-holder will have clinical responsibility for adult patients referred to the service but will also work closely with Child & Adult Social Care within this integrated clinical service model. The North London Partners Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Service will work closely with Maternity Services, Adult Community Mental Health Teams, Liaison Psychiatry Teams, Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment Teams, Adult Psychological Services, Primary Care Services, other community services and organizations.
