Job description

As a member of Amazon's Workforce Staffing Compliance team, the Compliance Specialist will support the day-to-day administration of the compliance program, policy and systems including legal and regulatory requirements.

Specific responsibilities will include:
Liaising with Key Internal and External Stakeholders, Senior Business Leaders, Process Owners to identify compliance risks and makes recommendations on mitigation.
• Enters risk and mitigation plans into risk matrix and tools
• Provide ongoing compliance subject matter support to internal teams
• Designs program controls and testing mechanisms
• Identify areas for improvement and take ownership of implementing changes
• Improve and maintain compliance metrics
• Conduct on-site and virtual compliance audits, draft audit reports detailing methodology, results, and recommendations
• Assist with new compliance projects as needs arise
• Collaborates with Compliance Program Manager to create compliance tools and trainings for the business to self-service.
• Writing detailed, data driven papers and presenting thought leadership to a variety of stakeholder groups.
• The ideal candidate is highly organized, exhibits excellent business judgment, works effectively with internal and external contacts, has the ability to shift gears at a moment's notice, and enjoys the challenges of monitoring and analyzing processes in a dynamic organization.
• The successful candidate will have exceptional communication and organizational skills, superior attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. This person must also possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills, along with the customer service focus that the world associates with and expects from Amazon.
• Experience in the human resources field and specifically with in the area of compliance will poise the candidate for success


Basic Qualifications
• Proven Compliance and Risk experience required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
• Must be able to travel up to 25%, when necessary
• MS Office experience, including ability to independently use MS Excel formulas for reporting


Preferred Qualifications
• Business intelligence/analytical abilities, able to build reporting
• Customer service orientation with ability to serve multiple customers (recruiters, multiple levels of HR business partners and vendors)
• Problem solver, able to troubleshoot issues independently or escalate when necessary - sense of accountability and sound professional judgment
