About this vacancy
An opportunity has arisen for a clinical specialist Physiotherapist to combine their clinical, leadership and management skills to the Major trauma, Trauma and Orthopaedic and Vascular Physiotherapy team at the Royal Sussex County Hospital. You would be expected to carry a high clinical case load and to provide professional, leadership and operational management to the team.
The RSCH hosts the regional Major Trauma Centre for the South East coast, and delivers key critical services 24 hours a day for patients who are severely injured from across the region. This includes the area extending from Chichester in West Sussex, towards Hastings and parts of Kent in the East, and up to Redhill in the North.
The major trauma physiotherapy team provides acute care and rehabilitation to patients transferred directly from: the scene of the accident, local Trauma units, A&E Departments across the region and for those repatriated back to the region from other parts of the UK and worldwide. We also prepare patients for transfer to ongoing rehabilitation either into the community, or to specialist rehabilitation centres.
The team consists of a band 7, band 6, band 5, band 3 on Major trauma; a Band 6, 2 Band 5's and a Band 2 on Orthopaedics and a Band 6 on Vascular and Amputees. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be keen to develop your staff, whilst ensuring the design and delivery of service meets the ever changing demands of modern healthcare. You should have experience of supervision of staff and students, multidisciplinary teaching and data collection, audit and the monitoring and implementation of clinical governance.
You will also be required to work weekends and on calls as part of a rostered 7 day service.
