Job description

The delivery of high quality Claims Service to all clients, ensuring that Key Client outcomes are delivered to pre-defined service standards.

The Role




Highly Specialised Claims Advocacy

  • Provide expert and highly specialised advocacy service prior and post claims notification

  • Act as a focal point and support to the client and claims advocacy unit for contentious, complex, disputed, sophisticated claims or high profile losses

  • Apply depth of product, industry and market knowledge to assist the client and the claims advocacy unit in the presentation, negotiation and resolution of highly complex and contentious claims

  • Analyse and review coverage issues in order to advise clients and colleagues

  • Provide support to facilitate and run mediation meetings with clients, underwriters and other interested parties as appropriate

  • Build and develop strong relationships with clients, market and business partners

  • Integral in connecting client and markets, leveraging relationships and using rapport to minimize and reduce friction between clients and markets


Industry Expert
  • Act as a key contact point for clients and colleagues for the area of expertise

  • Manage special and highly complex assignments/projects requiring specialized and technical claims knowledge

  • Understanding contracts, ability to interpret ambiguous wording

  • Identify and feedback claims trends, development and their potential impact

  • Provision of risk management advice to clients and the network, including review of clients own documentation and policies where appropriate

  • Technical and specialist support for pre-renewal meetings, placing and renewal negotiations

  • Monitor underwriter / reinsurer and service provider performance and take appropriate action as required to guarantee the client's best interests, through quarterly meetings


Training

  • Provision of technical training to Willis Re Claims associates and clients, in particular in relation to coverage issues, claims trends, market developments and risk management strategies
  • Hosting external visitors and in turn coordination of markets hosting our colleagues, including secondments to markets


Business Development

  • Fulfil and fully engage in business development needs on MI, Electronic claims solutions, RFP's and all future projects designated by the Head of London Market Reinsurance Claims.


Leadership and People Management

  • Act as a role model for Willis Re associates, including the training and development, transfer of knowledge to less experienced colleagues


The Requirements

  • Significantly experienced and technically knowledgeable London market claims expert
  • A high standard of commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Enthusiastic team player with strong relationship building skills
  • Joint team responsibility for non-electronic based files and ensuring that they are being appropriately managed towards finality, or an electronic solution
  • Presentation skills - confident and fluent delivery of key messages
  • Must have a good analytical mindset, evidenced by previous fact based decision making and excellent problem solving skills
  • Proven interpersonal skills, capable of dealing with domestic and international clients, business stakeholders and external bodies
  • Well-developed influencing skills and the ability to achieve success through others
  • Self-driven and organized
  • Ensure effective communication is in place with colleagues, clients and markets
  • Well-developed knowledge of FCA requirements and standards, ensuring adherence of all FCA & PRA regulations in a timely manner
  • Responsible for working in accordance with the Willis Re RQM and compliance policies, including participation in the management of risks, including completion of mandatory training, that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation
  • Ensuring all agreed practices and tools are actively and consistently applied
  • Lead by example, ensuring own activity complies with regulatory requirements business procedures
  • Application of discipline and adherence to expense management policy for Willis Re
  • Any other tasks that Willis Re reasonably require
