Talbot (Lloyd's of London Syndicate 1183) is a member company of AIG offering both insurance and reinsurance from the London Market with offices and a local presence in Asia Pacific, London, Miami and Santiago. Talbot are leaders in the War and Terrorism, Energy, Marine, Financial Lines and Cyber insurance sectors. We also focus on additional specialty classes such as transport, political risk, crisis management, kidnap and ransom, contingency, property and treaty reinsurance.
The analyst in this role will use cat models and other analytical tools to help support underwriters in their decision making. Other areas the analyst will be involved in are: capturing detailed risk information for property risks worldwide and undertaking research projects to further our understanding of catastrophe perils and available models
The key objectives for the Cat Modelling team are to help the business understand, quantify and manage catastrophe risk.
A n enthusiastic, organised individual with strong technical skills and a good attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with experience working in a cat modelling team and be looking to continue their career in the London Insurance Market.
Qualifications and desired skills as follows:-
- Science/Numerate degree
- Strong IT skills especially Excel and SQL
- Catastrophe Modelling experience
- Attention to detail
- Analytical/ numerically literate
- Good problem solving skills
- Able to work as part of a team or independently
- Strong communication skills both written and oral
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize with limited guidance
