Job description


This will be a fixed term contract for 1 year.

Due to our continuing development and success, an opportunity has become available for a specialist consultant to help the Global Captive Practice create a market leading structure to manage ILS solutions within WTW (Willis Re/Capital markets) and direct with introducers and market makers.

As an experienced captive practioner you will take responsibility to aid the local heads of offices in the execution of their client growth and new business planning and if appropriate their defense of accounts under RFP.

The role is expected to evolve over the longer term with new clients requiring ILS management services and you will be required to provide a pivotal role in onboarding clients and setting up the service teams from within the Global Captive Practice's resources.

The role
  • Devise and roll out a ILS related sales strategy working with line manager on various sales streams to develop and maintain new accounts/clients.
  • Work streams focused on a) developing new business lead opportunities, creating brand new ILS structures and b) promoting our offering in competition to an incumbent service provider.
  • Responsible for a financial target geared to 1.85 of annual salary package. This would be made up from recorded leads leading to billable income for the Global Captive Practice as one off or annuity fees.
  • Responsible for producing information on the specialist subject matter and act as champion of future bid documentation in tender situations. Interact with various domicile offices and seek assistance as and when required in supporting sales activities.
  • To liaise with identified prospects and clients, insurance supervisor, insurers, brokers, reinsurers, auditors, directors, lawyers actuaries etc. to fulfil the prescribed scope of ILS consultant and management services provider.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and ability to develop trusted business relationships with producers, prospects and clients.
  • Overseas travel to be part of job and prior approval by line management will be required on a case to case basis.
  • Interact and demonstrate a collegiate attitude in working jointly on business opportunities with Structured Risk Solutions (a sister operation to GCP in Risk and Analytics in London and Paris).
  • Represent the Captive Practice as and when required at client premises or WTW hubs.

Demonstrate and understand and in some cases awareness of the following service deliverables:

Financial
  • Understand and be able to present to clients a detailed knowledge of Underwriting accounts, review of premium and claims information.
  • Ability to provide new co budgets/forecasts.
  • Liaise with insurers, brokers, reinsurers, risk consultants, loss adjusters in relation to the underwriting activities of ILS entities.
  • Inform on the impact to the technical result due to changes in underwriting performance.

Documentation
  • Be aware of all relevant contracts/policy wordings/agreements required for ILS transactions/ entities.

Client Liaison
  • Regular liaison with clients and culture positive relationships including out of office hours entertaining.

ILS Company Meetings
  • Assisting domicile teams in the production and issuance of Board packs and minutes for same.
  • Presentation of information in a Board meeting environment.

Marketing
  • Making presentations to both prospective and current clients, including preparation of material used at same.

Internal Audit/Compliance/ External Audit
  • Review of files and procedures within the company.
  • Ensure compliance with all Group and Client Procedures.
  • Be available to assist in technical matters relating to annual audit.

Solvency II
  • Be aware of compliance with Solvency II legislation for nominated clients in EU.

  • Solid experience in outsource insurance company management / ILS and domicile regulatory environment.
  • Be familiar with various legal structures to accommodate ILS platform and fully understand the onboarding requirement at set up stage.
  • Have experience of (re)insurance underwriting preparation.
  • Hold a professional qualification, preference would be given to chartered accountant “ACA” or equivalent.
  • Second European language would be useful but not essential
