To assist the Capital Modelling team achieve its goals in the following areas:
To maintain and develop the syndicate capital model.
To provide capitalanalysis for key business decisions (e.g. one-year and forward-looking plans, reinsurance,portfolio optimisation).
To support the modelling and other requirements of Solvency II and Lloyd's minimum standards (e.g.the syndicate SCR process).
To support the Actuarial Function reporting (e.g. on underwriting policy andreinsurance arrangements).
To create and present capital papers for management and the Board (e.g. SCR, ORSA).
To consider capital allocation methodologies and measurements of return with a view to more efficient capital usage.
To liaise with the wider Group capital team(s) as appropriate.
To liaise with external consulting actuaries where necessary in support of the above.
To support regular monitoring of plan versus actual.
To keep abreast of developments in the capital field.
To liaise with the profession on market and other issues pertaining to capital and planning.
Mathematics or similar quantitative degree (minimum 2:1).
Part qualified member of the Institute of Actuaries (or of another actuarial body of similar standing).
Desired skills (over and above Talbot competencies):
Good attention to detail.
Ability to work to deadlines.
Strong communication skills.
Personable; strong character; diplomatic.
