Our Bridges and Structures Team is seeking to grow its capability with a view to delivering its growing portfolio of major scheme for clients such as Highways England, Transport for Scotland, Welsh Government, Network Rail, local authorities, contractors and a variety of international clients. We also work with developers in realising their bridge related projects, achieved through a fully integrated approach to project delivery; drawing on the services of all Jacobs skill groups from locations throughout the region.
We are a centre for excellence for bridge and structural design, specialising in major crossings such as:
Izmit Bay, Turkey, Independent design check
Mersey Gateway Crossing, UK, project development & site audit
River Don Crossing, Scotland, detail design, site supervision
Wild Coast Bridges, South Africa detail design, site supervision
We have an impressive scope of work to deliver on a diverse range of bridge, railway and highway projects such as:
Bridge replacement designs for the M4 and M6 Smart Motorways Projects
Feasibility studies, designs and checking for pedestrian/cyclist bridges
Design of elevated viaducts for the extension of Dubai Metro in the UAE
Lower Thames Crossing
In addition to these projects we anticipate securing several significant and iconic bridge projects in the near future.
Produce precise, high quality, well presented SOR Drawings in AutoCAD;
Coordinate the Structures Drawings with other workstreams;
To deliver parent company project governance requirements as required;
To consider project legacy and in all decision making in the same way as cost, risk and time
To look for ways to encourage innovative thinking around how to improve legacy benefits
To hold health, safety, security and welfare (HSSW) as a key project value and to participate in the creation, development and implementation of HSSW strategies by the project leadership team

Proven experience of working as part of a CAD/BIM Team, with a track record of delivering structures on a large infrastructure project to the projects quality standards and be familiar with working within ProjectWise;
Working knowledge of Highways England's requirements;
Knowledge of managing project models and drawings within ProjectWise;
Proven ability to work collaboratively with other members of the Bridges & Structures Team during the development of design solutions;
Demonstrable experience of successfully working in/adapting the philosophy of a 'One Team' environment within an NEC contract context
Ability to work within a team and with internal and external stakeholders
Attention to detail in producing high quality output;
Exceptional interpersonal skills and personal resilience to working to strict timelines/different styles of leadership;
Extensive experience of AutoCAD, ProjectWise and MS Office Suite.
