The Role

  • The Business Development Assistant will contribute to ensuring the realisation of business plans for growth, supporting the delivery of specialist campaigns, sales and marketing activity and accurately recording financial income and expenditure.
  • This role will require experience of working within a customer led administrative environment. Evidence of financial monitoring and building strong relationships and partnerships with colleagues and customers is essential to success.
  • Responsible for maintaining financial systems and processes including raising requisitions, invoicing and journal transfers, ensuring monitoring, reconciliation and control procedures are in place and completing year-end procedures.
  • Manage and record all marketing campaigns, linking with national service area campaigns, to ensure messages are aligned, clear, concise and far reaching.
  • Manage and record school performance, year on year, in respect of food safety and hygiene, to ensure SLAs are revised and updated. Working closely with schools to highlight and record improvements.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to understand and anticipate customer needs, providing them with a service they value. Recording and referring all complaints/compliments.
  • Responsible for recording all identified training needs for staff across the services, including sending reminders to staff.
  • Maintaining of health and safety systems for the service including lone working devices, bodycams, recruitment and DBS checks

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Educated to RQF level 3 (A level) or equivalent by experience, a finance based qualification is desirable.
  • Evidence of knowledge in relevant professional area and a willingness to develop.
  • Experience of working within a customer led administrative environment.
  • Experience of building strong relationships and partnerships with colleagues and customers, which are collaborative and influential in nature and engender delivery.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver excellent customer service.
