You will be accountable for providing (or reviewing and commenting on those provided by others), performance and design specifications, for building services, equipment and environmental components for the Building our Future Programme. Providing assurance standards and processes to ensure building services quality standards are achieved and that they meet the requirements of the future asset operating model.

There is no direct line management, but you will operate in a matrix environment with project team members including directing external professional services consultants to ensure projects are delivered to high level of quality with high levels of team working and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

To provide technical expertise, support and assurance to the Building our Future programme to include:

  • Undertake research and analysis of options to determine appropriate design solutions in relation to building services for shell/core and Fit Out.

  • Providing technical analysis and review of contractors design for Cat A installations.

  • Provide technical analysis and review of contractor's proposals and detailed design for Cat B installations.

  • Carry out whole life costing analysis and asset future proofing on proposed components and installations.

  • Organise performance reviews of new installations to ensure performance criteria met and feedback into future design processes ensuring continuous improvement.

    Person Specification

    Essential

  • Engagement with end users, assessment of requirements and ensuring it is captured in appropriate design solutions in complex stakeholder environments.

  • Extensive experience as a building services engineer in a commercial services consultancy practice or client building services function.

  • Good knowledge of current design and commissioning technologies and innovation trends relating to building services and other systems used in office developments.

  • Review of third party designs and assurance against technical design standards and specifications.

  • Analysis of services performance data and report writing.

  • Implementation of quality management to ensure installations correctly designed, installed and
    commissioned.

    Desirable

  • Recognised professional Project Management or change management qualification, i.e. PRINCE2 Practitioner or Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) Practitioner or APM Practitioner Qualification (APMPQ).

  • Experience of Government or BSRIA Soft Landings including full post completion operating cycle.

  • Experience of working on projects using BIM level 2 or higher.
