As a high-profile, prestigious organisation at the forefront of the government's efforts to help finance markets work better so that businesses across the UK can survive, prosper and grow, we deliver a variety of debt schemes through the support of financial Delivery Partners. Our Audit Assurance Team are responsible for managing all aspects of the risk-based Delivery Partner Audit Assurance programme for our schemes.
We are offering an Audit Assurance Manager a role that provides an excellent opportunity to manage all aspects of the audit programme. This is an interesting and varied role which involves managing the engagement and oversight of independent external auditors across the debt schemes and portfolios.
This is an ideal position for an audit professional who is looking to move into management of audit, gain experience overseeing a fast-changing part of government policy, engage with UK financial services firms, and ultimately develop a broader audit management and commercial skills set.
In your role as Audit Assurance Manager, you will oversee the external independent auditors, manage all aspects of the delivery of the audit contracts and have plenty of opportunities to actively contribute to the design, development and delivery of the risk-based Delivery Partner assurance programme for our schemes. You will promote the highest standards for the programmes across the Delivery Partners.
You will receive and interpret audit reports and agree action plans for the Delivery Partner to address any shortcomings and support the effective follow-up and completion of Delivery Partner actions. You will be focused on mitigating the perceived and actual risks and ensuring that all Delivery Partners are complying with their contractual responsibilities for delivering our schemes.
You will work closely with the senior management team, preparing and delivering governance reporting to the Audit Review Panel and the Executive Audit Risk Committee.
It will be beneficial to have a successful track record in audit management and participation in the formulation of audit objectives, policies and strategies, a good understanding of risk-based operational, financial, and reputational audit work, and experience of attending Board Committees and working with Executive Management. You will have leadership skills, including experience of leading within a matrix management structure, and relevant business sector experience.
