GatenbySanderson is a leading provider of talent solutions to the public and not for profit sectors in the UK & Ireland. Established in 2002, it is the largest provider of Executive Recruitment services to Local and Central Government, Health, Education, Not for Profit and the broader public sector.

We're searching for an Assistant Consultant in our Interim Leadership business. Working with our close-knit team, you'll be supporting the delivery of our most high-profile executive recruitment projects.

This role is accountable for supporting the fee earning consultants to co-ordinate new business development opportunities and facilitate client and candidate interactions. This role is essential to supporting and developing lasting relationships with candidates and in ensuring the constant tracking and monitoring of the interim candidate market place, to promote and sustain candidate loyalty.

What you'll do:

  • Respond immediately to notifications via portals or emails to Consultants, either alerting colleagues to the opportunities or taking action to search for and contact appropriate candidates.

  • Write, place and update adverts, whilst conducting complimentary research, to identify and attract new and previous interim candidates.

  • Support with the formatting of CVs, ensuring that tasks are always completed quickly and accurately with the GS brand and reputation in mind.

  • Track and monitor responses and applications ensuring that any candidates progressed are interviewed, assessed, registered and screened appropriately

  • Send agreed shortlists to clients on behalf of Partners and Consultants or in the absence of fee earners or when they are otherwise engaged.

  • Support Partners and Consultants to code new candidates correctly into the system where business development or other activity prevents them from being able to personally do this.

  • Work closely with Consultants/Partners to understand the focus of business development activity, and co-ordinate the booking of client meetings.

    Skills and experience you'll bring:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clarity, confidence and accuracy in writing and over the phone internally and externally.

  • Experience of providing successful administrative support in a dynamic business function, and ideally experience of working in the recruitment industry.

  • Experience and ability to develop administrative procedures and processes and being prepared to challenge if you spot something that could be improved.

  • Good writing and message-taking skills and a robust understanding of online customer management systems portal.

  • Ability to work with multiple team members at one time; prioritising, balancing and communicating constantly with regards to changing and conflicting requirements.

  • Ability to self-assess and set personal goals.

    Salary: £25,000 - 28,000 (depending on experience) plus commission and benefits.
