Work Life Blend at QBE

Whether you are a parent or carer, or have other unfulfilled ambitions; the reason doesn't matter but making it work does. The following initiatives show ways in which QBE helps its employees achieve this.

LifeTime Leave

A chance to take up to 4 weeks unpaid leave per year, after 2 years employment. This can be taken at different points in the year but must be in blocks of at least 1 week. Whatever your life stage or personal situation, we want you to have the option to request time out of work when you need it. The reason doesn't matter - be it to focus on home life, family, charity work, personal development, travel or another unfilled personal ambition, the choice is there.

Flexible Working

At QBE, we want the blend of work and home life to be important, which is why Flexible Working opportunities are open to all no matter the reason, life stage and personal situation. All our employees have the option to request a change in their working pattern or location on a temporary or permanent basis. Examples of this are job sharing, part time working, variable working patterns e.g. 9-day fortnights.

Agile working enables us to be more dynamic and responsive to changes in the business environment, workforce demographics, and technology; and gives our people more flexibility to manage their work life blend.  We want an environment where all our people feel supported, empowered and trusted to get the job done, while ensuring that we continue to achieve the results that allow us to flourish and thrive as a business. Everyone needs to take personal responsibility to deliver and put our customers first. Examples of this are working from home or another location.

Enhanced Family Friendly Policies

We know that one of the times that matters most is when children come along and we want to do all we can to support you in enjoying this important life stage. Our enhanced Maternity leave, Adoption & Surrogacy leave, Paternity leave and Shared Parental leave policies are available to UK employees as part of an improved range of ways for you to manage that all important blend of home and work life.
