Women in Policing is a staff network that raise awareness of, and champion issues affecting women in the police service – both police officers and staff, across all areas of West Midlands Police.
Our aim is to support women in the workplace, as well as highlighting areas where the organisation can improve in ensuring WMP are as inclusive an employer as possible.
We listen to the voices of women and men, and amplify these where needed to help make positive changes in the workplace.
Whilst our focus remains around maternity, flexible working, part-time and job share and menopause support, we also work as a trusted friend to the organisation, to ensure that women are represented in all roles and levels in policing and can achieve their potential through support, development, coaching and mentoring.
We also support the organisation in challenging and eliminating harassment and discrimination, as well as celebrating the successes and talent of the women in West Midlands Police.
