Our Wellbeing Matters at the Crown Prosecution Service
We have developed a range of guidance and initiatives to support our people throughout their working life. Some of these include:
Physical health
Our physical wellbeing is important; we positively encourage membership of the Civil Service Sports and Social Club (CSSC) and provide information for able and disabled people throughout England and Wales.
The Civil Service Physical Activity Week provides information and opportunity for all to take part in as much, or as little, as they like.
Mental health
We have recently introduced Mental Health Allies. They are CPS employees who complete an intensive two-day training course with Mental Health First Aid England. We believe mental health is as important as physical health and are working hard to stop the stigma sometimes attached to it.
Financial wellbeing
We provide free workshops for financial planning, from the start of your career right up to planning for retirement. ‘CPS Rewards’ recognises all the hard work our employees put into making the CPS the great place it is. All people can gain discounts, cash back and discounted gift cards to help with a range of shopping essentials from groceries to fashion.
Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
Our people have unlimited access to a 24/7 free-call number that is staffed by qualified counsellors, advisors and legally-trained specialists. The service can be used for work-related and non-work related issues (such as children, family and debt).
Our wellbeing strategy is constantly evolving to better support our people.
