Volunteering and Charity of the Year at DCMS

The Volunteering Steering Group raises awareness of volunteering initiatives for all staff in the department by coordinating the planning and implementation of relevant schemes.

We are bringing together the overall aims and coordinating the communications and also working with HR to make sure that we have a clear volunteering policy and supporting FAQs.

Our aims

Our aim is for staff volunteering to be an integral part of DCMS culture. We will do this through our Inspire, Clarify and Enable (ICE) strategy:

  • Inspire – Motivate and share volunteering and champion the benefits of volunteering
  • Clarify – Recognise what staff already do, signpost opportunities and ensure the volunteering policy is clear and accessible
  • Enable – Identify, share and enable volunteering opportunities
