The LGBT+ Network at Environment Agency

We want all employees, whatever their sexual orientation or gender identity, to feel able to be themselves in their workplace, to have an equal opportunity to be happy at work and develop their skills. Fairness at work and good job performance go hand-in-hand, so by improving workplace culture we aim to attract, motivate and retain our diverse workforce. The Environment Agency believes people perform better when they can be themselves. The LGBT+ network was set up to provide confidential advice and support to all of our employees.

We recently hosted a Senior champions Seminar for LGBT Networks in public sector organisations and in 2019 Stonewall awarded the network the “Highly Commended” status for achieving the highest scores in the Employee Network Group section of the Workplace Equality Index.
