The Charitable Foundation at Barratt Developments

The Barratt Developments PLC Charitable Foundation – the ‘Barratt Foundation’ for short – is a new organisation which draws together all of the charitable work that Barratt does into a single body.

The new Foundation will mean more time, effort and funding can be spent looking after charities – helping to channel the £4.5m which Barratt donates annually.

The Foundation has a general charitable purpose, which means that it is able to donate to a wide variety of charities within the UK. However, the Foundation will look to provide support in some key areas, particularly through our national partnerships:

• Promoting social inclusion, with a specific focus on young people, the armed forces and the most disadvantaged and excluded in society
• Helping the environment and nature alongside our commitment to being the country’s leading national sustainable housebuilder
• Promoting physical and mental health
• Education and opportunity

Here are some of the causes and charities we support:

• Donations for guide dogs
• £6,000 donated to help the homeless
• Driving foodbank donations
• Supporting disadvantaged children in Devon and Cornwall
• £150,000 donated to NHS charities since the start of the coronavirus crisis
• £100,000 donated to Whizz kidz who help provide disabled children with the essential mobility equipment they need to lead fun and active childhoods
• £750,000 to Royal British Legion Industries, to help fund their new centenary village for veterans and their families
