The BBC News Parents Network

The BBC News Parents Network is as a partnership between Global Women in News (GWiN), the BBC Academy and HR.

It is made up of volunteer parents from BBC News. Its aim is to help support parents and line managers better during maternity, paternity, adoption and surrogacy leave.

The Parents Network operates the following initiatives – an ABC for BBC News parents.

Agony Aunts

A group of managers in News, male and female, who manage lots of different working arrangements and can provide informal and confidential advice on all aspects of work-life balance.

Buddies

A network of other BBC parents to call on or chat with and share experiences and advice.

Coaching

A pilot offering of 1 or 2 coaching sessions to help better support parents pre, during and post maternity/paternity/surrogacy/adoption leave.
