Sussex Police Interfaith Forum
The Interfaith Forum is an internal reference group which recognises the different faiths and beliefs held by officers, staff and volunteers. We aim to try and understand the specific needs and interests related to different belief strands, and support Sussex Police to achieve equality in the workplace.
We aim to:
- Identify the different faiths and beliefs held within the workforce.
- Understand the challenges and opportunities related to faith and belief for individuals in the workplace.
- Provide advice to the organisation in matters related to faith and belief, and support relevant faith based staff support groups.
- Raise awareness of different faith and belief based celebrations and provide an appropriate signposting service.
- Maintain and develop effective working relationships with staff associations and trade unions.

The Interfaith Forum meets every 4 months, chaired by the Interfaith Equality Champion, Sgt Simon Kind. The Interfaith Forum meetings discuss topical issues related to faith and belief, identify opportunities to promote awareness of celebration days/events, and explore any workplace related issues.
All ranks, grades and roles are welcome to attend.
