Remote & Flexible Working at Plan International

Whilst we have always been committed to a flexible approach, all of our staff at the Global Hub have been working from home since March 2020 and we know that the future of office work will be very different post-Covid 19. We are committed to continuing with a remote working environment into the future, meaning staff who might have come into the office every day will not be obliged to unless they wish to and it is permitted. We will continue to evolve our approach to flexibility and remote working over time but we hope that this will give us the opportunity to examine how traditional working models may impact staff in different ways and offer flexible solutions; respond to the wishes of staff who have expressed their desire to work from home more frequently; allow for a more globally based workforce; and ensure opportunities for people that may have difficultly accessing and working in the office environment.

In our C19 Pulse Survey over the Spring, our Global Hub colleagues told us:

  • 96% - I am well informed about Plan’s Global C19 Emergency Response
  • 94% - I am well informed about the role of Global Hub and my own team’s response
  • 95% - HR guidance/updates issued has been helpful and supportive
  • 94% - Plan has shown genuine concern to colleagues during the lockdown period
  • 92% - Line manager support has been effective
