HMRC has a Race Staff Network which is a vital part of our consultation and feedback mechanism, helping us to identify barriers for people from different racial and cultural backgrounds. The network offers support and advice such as a mentoring scheme.
We carefully monitor our representation by racial background aiming for a staff population that reflects the population of the community we serve. In recognition that we have fewer Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) colleagues in management and senior roles we have created the Embrace staff development scheme, aiming to provide the knowledge and skills colleagues need to succeed.
