Welcome to VERCIDA website.
Skip to main contentRace and ethnicity is one of six focus areas in our global DEI strategy. Our vision is to build an organisation where our global majority colleagues feel they belong; they see themselves represented through every level of the organisation, have equitable career growth and opportunity, and are confident that Sage will dismantle organisational barriers to racial equity and inclusion.
We want to make Sage an anti-racist organisation. The responsibility for building a culture of anti-racism sits with our leaders and their collective action as a community, as they hold the influence and power to make change happen.
We do not put the burden or responsibility of change onto our Colleague Success Networks or individual colleagues. Colleagues can help support the building of an anti-racist culture by understanding allyship, completing the allyship training and becoming allies. Our race and ethnicity Colleague Success Networks support our inclusive culture. Colleagues are welcome to join and help amplify the work and changes the groups are driving forward.
We are immensely proud of our volunteer-led Colleague Success Networks. Formed based on shared identity and/or lived experience, they support our inclusive culture. Barriers to inclusion identified by network members are fed back to the DEI team and senior leadership to resolve. Our race and ethnicity networks include:
Through our Business In The Community (BITC) membership, we sponsored their 2023 UK regional insights research on race. The insight that we have garnered through the research’s findings is informing the improvement of our recruitment and career development strategies to ensure our colleagues from the global majority have equitable opportunities for progression. We are also a committed signatory to the Race at Work Charter.
Change the Race Ratio - Driving the race agenda forward at Sage within leadership
Change the Race Ratio is a campaign to increase racial and ethnic minority representation on boards and in senior teams in UK Business. Sage are signatories of the Change the Race Ratio.
The addition of Sage to the campaign leadership further strengthens Change the Race Ratio’s role in accelerating race equity in the FTSE350.
Peter D. VP ED&I at Sage comments:
“As one of the 20% of FTSE 100 companies that have been voluntarily publishing their ethnicity pay gap for a few years now, Sage is aligned with Change the Race Ratio’s mission.
We look forward to learning from our peers – both as we aim to increase representation from historically under-represented racial and ethnic groups in senior leadership, and in our broader efforts to build a culture of anti-racism at Sage.”
