PRIDE+ at Amex

On June 15, 2020, the US Supreme Court issued a landmark ruling extending civil rights protections in the workplace to LGBTQ+ individuals. American Express was one of about 200 companies that had signed an amicus brief urging the Court to rule in favor of this outcome. But we have been an outspoken champion of LGBTQ+ inclusion for many years.

We have been an active member of Open for Business, a coalition of global companies making the economic and business case for LGBTQ+ inclusion in the private sector.

Our PRIDE+ Colleague Network helps to foster a culture where everyone feels safe and free to be themselves. In addition, our leading workplace policies, practices, and comprehensive benefits offerings have earned us a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index every year for the past 13 years. 

PRIDE+ UK employee network supports a range of events, including Brighton Pride and the Stonewall Brighton Equality Walk. It has also led many local community initiatives, including student community mentoring programmes with Brighton University and Brighton & Hove City Council.
