We offer a range of initiatives that actively support parents across the organisation. We are committed to creating a working environment where our people can successfully balance their work and home lives.
Pregnancy and parenthood clinics
We run quarterly pregnancy and parenthood clinics. These are drop-in sessions for pregnant women and new or expectant parents of any gender. They provide an opportunity to discuss questions or concerns on parent-related issues, flexible working, pay during maternity, paternity or adoption leave, and other family friendly policies.
Flexible working
We understand that traditional work patterns do not suit everyone, and that people’s needs may vary over the course of your career. We want to create a working environment where our people can successfully balance their work and home lives. In 2017 we updated our flexible working policy offering options that include variable hours, compressed hours, part-time working and home-working, while recognising that the business needs of different teams and roles can vary. There are many people across the FCA who make the most of this flexibility, including some of our most senior employees.
Network group support for parents
In 2017 our employee-run gender network, Balance, launched a new Parental Buddying Scheme. The scheme matches parents with buddies who have (or have had) similar experiences or circumstances to provide friendly and confidential guidance, advice and support.
In addition to this, our Carers Network also covers those who are parents under its definition of a carer.
