The Combined Authority is keen to support new parents and provides enhanced Maternity and Adoption Leave pay (over and above what is required by law).

The majority of employees are able to access the flexi-time scheme that enables colleagues to manage and monitor work/life balance accordingly.

We offer all roles as part time and/or job share to ensure our parents and carers can have a fulfilled career whilst also maintaining a work/life balance that suits their family and the service.

The PoD (Parents of the Neurodivergent) at WYCA

The PoD, is an informal support group for parents, guardians and carers of neurodivergent children. (diagnosed or undiagnosed).

To provide a safe space for parents, guardians and carers to share personal experiences and feelings, coping strategies or first-hand information about the strengths and challenges that comes with parenting a neurodivergent child.

To empower parents, guardians and carers and arm them with the knowledge they need to ensure their child/children get the support they need to reach their full potential.

To provide peer to peer support, education, and resources to signpost parents, guardians, and carers to available support services in West Yorkshire.

To increase awareness of neurodiversity within the Combined Authority and promote a culture of awareness and acceptance.

To advocate for our children and their needs with a collective voice.
