New Parents’ Network at Birmingham City Council

Birmingham City Council’s New Parents’ Network (NPN) aims to improve the experience of people expecting a child, and during the early days after birth, including the widely recognised, most important 1000 days of a child’s life (including pregnancy).

We aim to do this by providing mutual support to colleagues, learning from each other and best practice from other organisations, providing a collective voice to improve the quality of experience while expecting a child or while on parental or adoptive leave, improving policies, projects and services relevant to NPN and the people we work with, and serving as a consultative forum for corporate services within the council to discuss, shape and influence policy and practice.
